Hi, all.
I am Weilin Li (李，韦霖，in case your computer reads Mandarin), the "high risk" PhD student from Department of Mechanical and Aerospacing Engineering. I received the B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This is my third year here in Syracuse. I passed the qualifying examination last semester. So hopefully, I've already reached, or at least near the half-way line of the entire doctoral study.
My research focuses on modeling and simulation of complex product design and development process, engineering change management, and process improvement to product realization. As you can tell, they are all interdisciplinary topics, which require interdisciplinary thinking. I came to SU right after I finished my undergraduate study. I am able to use the Bernoulli's Equation (an equation for fluid mechanics) but have no internship/working experience at all. That's why I'm taking this class as an inspiration of perceiving the real world I've never put my foot in.
