Hi, all.
I am Weilin Li (李，韦霖，in case your computer reads Mandarin), the "high risk" PhD student from Department of Mechanical and Aerospacing Engineering. I received the B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This is my third year here in Syracuse. I passed the qualifying examination last semester. So hopefully, I've already reached, or at least near the half-way line of the entire doctoral study.
My research focuses on modeling and simulation of complex product design and development process, engineering change management, and process improvement to product realization. As you can tell, they are all interdisciplinary topics, which require interdisciplinary thinking. I came to SU right after I finished my undergraduate study. I am able to use the Bernoulli's Equation (an equation for fluid mechanics) but have no internship/working experience at all. That's why I'm taking this class as an inspiration of perceiving the real world I've never put my foot in.

The new semester officially started today. I am picking up Fluid Dynamics, one of the classic core mechanical courses with Prof. Lewalle. I worked for him as a teaching assistant last semester. HE IS JUST BRILLIANT. I love SO MUCH the way he places ideas. Let me show you a lecture note from him which demonstrates some concepts on Wake Formation (check the figure below). Though the content is totally irrelevant to my field of research, I do think it has versatile merits, such as improving mind-mapping as the professor claimed, enhancing mechanical brain thinking, and last but not least, making everyone (myself included) believe that I am still an ME major.

The other course I will be taking is Risk Management from information school. I suppose it is more business-oriented that requires a lot of case study, team work, class participation, and blah blah blah...So as you can tell, I am not much into it at this point, but still looking forward to it owing to its multidisciplinary perspective.

这不免令人巨大地担心起像我这样一个话比较少的非科研人员以后的女bo生活要怎么过

呕。竟然真的给我绣好了伊港。
我爸已经预备好大钱要买它了哪。

天气实在太冷了 晴朗的时候尤其是
要不就下很大的雪
无休无止
呕 于是我现在就成了一只天天钉桩一样钉在办公室座位上和家里写字台前的小人
生活在恒温的地下二层和公寓四楼
吃很多火腿三明治牛奶泡麦皮银耳红枣和大量水果
礼拜一晚上格外担心明天要怎么讲清楚题目
礼拜三晚上又开始紧张后天组会要用的演讲稿
到了周末
为了避免磨巨大洋工 还是必须前往学校

世道这么的坏
所以这样不大有趣的生活
都是应该要好好珍惜的

而回想那些真正面朝大海春暖花开的时光
那可真是格外的闪闪动人

这个学期超级的令人发指
1! 博士生资格考试(Ph.D. qualifying examination)

2! 静力学助教
    1!! 首先呐 这个是重修班 大部分学生再次看到我（曾经的批作业人和监考人）的时候 眼神不停在假装不认识和觉得触霉头之间转换
    2!! 其次呐 本人每周
         1!!! 要上两次复习课(recitation) 期间还要开展人人憎恶的点名活动
         2!!! 要坐班两次进行答疑(office hour)
         3!!! 要批作业
         4!!! (不必)要三次旁听这门位于九点半的课 但是你倒说说看 我作为一个完全没有工作经验 但却虚心好学 一颗红心的小青年是不是应该向人家法国老教师努力学习呐！更何况他可真不是一个随便说说的极富人格魅力的老教师呐！

just finished my final project presentation. though am still sitting in the CIS 300 classroom, theoretically, i am done.

此刻是纽约时间清晨五点五十一分
妈的 你看看我都已经失眠成这样了

我现在只要有任何一点点的思想活动
都会不知不觉地飞入盘旋在头顶上方的大LOOP
然后就眼巴巴地看着它们绕啊绕啊
最后一个个地绕成死循环

其实有过好几次
下午或者傍晚或者夜里
我盘腿坐在图书馆五楼读论文批作业
都会鬼使神差而内心又有点点激动地打开写新日志的页面
然后把嫌弃已久的 分类：On the Job 工 先选好
然后就长远地定在那里考虑怎么才能重塑本人苦大仇深的女博形象
然后想想噢唷不要搞了明天还要交差的早点弄好回家看康熙或者睡觉比较格算

个么从今天一直到感恩节中间的这二十天
我要尽量不跑出去玩尽量不发呆尽量不发痴
讲到收骨头
我还是蛮高兴的啊。
